Andrew has arrived safely in LA but not after adventure on both our parts. We arrived at the teeny tiny Fort Walton Airport already hearing of delays and delays and more delays. Andrew was supposed to fly through Chicago which is part of the mid-west which is having major weather issues. As we drove, we got warnings that his plane was delayed an hour, then two, then three, then four...oh boy! So, we kept calling American Airlines representatives hoping they could get him on a different flight, stopping over in another town. But, they said, nothing to be done - stay where you are! Andrew has flown enough to know the warning signs of a canceled flight before it happened. And, thank God for status. Because of Andrew's status, he was able to get a flight out of the Pensacola airport (which meant I would have to drive him another hour and then another 2 hours home) to Dallas and then LA. And...I didn't even want him to go home! Ah well...all worked out well...I made it home before Andrew made it to Dallas and Andrew made it to LA (after delays in Florida and Dallas!) at 1am (Pacific Time) and 3am (Central Time). Big, big thanks to my dad for picking him up! And, thank you Andrew...for all your sacrifices. I am immeasurably blessed by God for giving me you.
As far as me, so far, so good. Since Andrew has been gone, I've seen my first Floridian rainbow, my first Floridian thunderstorm, sat in my first Floridian rainstorm. I found my favorite Florida restaurant, "Dewey Destin" on my own - with a little help from a local. And, the Lees were kind enough to have me spent the night so I wouldn't be too lonely.
And...I am surviving, I am surviving...I really am.
